Thanks to Karen for:
This is not a fail. Traffic signs often have “through” shortened to “thru,” and lack punctuation. To you I say fail for posting something that isn’t actually a fail.
The use of “thru” is not the reason why this is a fail. “Residence” should be “residents.”
Burn!
ha major burn… or perhaps you thought there could be no thru traffic, but someone could put up a tent
Yes, Anonymous. Abbreviations are often used in traffic signage. Incorrect usage is not.
Since the sign was corrected after I emailed this photo to the county traffic department, we’ll just agree that it was a fail!
Maybe… It’s saying that you can have your residence, like a motorhome, driven through the property, but not a vehicle that you dont/ cant live in…?
Not very funny at all. Such mistakes are only funny when they give an actual, new and totally unexpected meaning (Like “Megaflicks” or “Big(L)ots”)
every single sign like that in my town says thru instead of through.chtspk should not be used in signs.
