What is that desk made of, manure? I am not sure I ever had to worry about whether or not the smell from my furniture was toxic. You know, since my furniture normally doesn’t smell. Or have warning labels about the smell.
This is a sale fail. You’ve got more guts than I’ve got, Stephanie — I would never have bought a desk with this warning attached.

this probably refers to formaldehyde, or something of the sort. furniture is made with so many chemicals that it can easily create a smell. Still a big fail, though.
just for the record, the warning was tucked away inside the box with the little plastic baggie of screws and other accoutrements. it wasn’t an advertisement of sorts. then again, I am a huffer, so had it been taped to the front of the box i probably would have bought it anyway, just for that 5 second high…
You can tell that the company that produced it was foreign. If it was Ikea, that might make sense. Chinese? That is the smell of lead-laced mahogany.
WOW!
