Working with the cows…

Thanks to Tonya who says, “I found this sign taped to the microwave at work a few weeks ago.  I stood there dumbfounded for a moment and then immediately ran back to my desk to grab the camera.  It’s EPIC FAIL on so many levels, I don’t even know where to begin - the spelling, the grammar, oy vey!  At first I thought it HAD to be a joke, but as it turns out the person who wrote it was serious.  Seriously lacking in English skills at the very least.”

It was painful to read that. Every time I see a note posted at work I cringe, because I work with the same type of people.

I hope Tonya doesn’t work at a newspaper. Or a publishing house.

Got it. Don’t overcook your cow-workers. Gotta remember to not “forget too remember” that. Does that cover enough?

The Bee Gees once sang “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” but of course it was sung ironically.

There is a similar (but even longer) sign at the microwave in my own workplace. I’m so tempted to put up a second sign that reads “Please cover your food to keep the microwave clean” to convey the same message with a third of the words.

    The question is …

where does Tonya work ? i mean, which country.

Writing this kind of english is a miracle for some people, but for native english, serious punishments should be thought off.

(i’m from a french speaking country)

“Forget too remember”…how meta. Sounds like Tonya may want to find a new place to work, where everyone is not an idiot.

Does it bother anyone else when people use 2, 4, or more than 4 exclamation points?

You are allowed to use up to 73 exclamation points, as long as you add ‘1′ and ‘one’ in the series. Example: FtW!!!!!1!!!!1!!11!one!!!!1!!!

I honestly think all this started with things like “Thanx” in my generation - shame on us!

    Tonya, some advice….
If you ever see a note written like that at work run back to your desk and work on your resume immediately.

It could have been the maid though I’d suspect marketing first — The default font/layout reeks of microsoft powerpoint.

Why are several exclamation marks deemed to be better than one? Is it a form of volume control?
