i guess a few letters were lost in the translation?

Comment by MP

Wow. Aside from the missing letters, check ou the attack of the apostrophes.

Comment by Hiro

Gangsta rapers…Give a whole new meaning to gang-banger.

Comment by PollyAnna

AHHHH - too many apostrophes!!! Gangsta Thug’s Hustla’s Raper’s in a Honda CR-V!! And a white CR-V to boot!!! LOL What’s with the WALKING RUNNING?

Comment by Aeterna

Wait. Is that license plate in Hebrew??

Comment by Warren

Wait. Is that license plate in Hebrew??

Yes, it is (or possibly Arabic). I don’t think this qualifies as an English fail. Not only is the spelling tolerable, even by gangsta standards, but English and Hebrew (and Arabic, actually) are written backwards relative to each other: Left-to-right versus right-to-left.

I’m just about certain no one here could produce correctly spelled words in any middle Eastern language.

Comment by jenbrooke

…despite the non-English background, maybe these Thug’s are just trying to show how tough they really are. They’re much more thuggish than the gangsta rappers…they’re gangsta rapers! I think they did it on purpose. :-)

Comment by L

Warren, if you think that spelling is tolerable, what are you even doing on this site?

The idea of “gangsta rapers” is pretty scary. One little letter makes a huge difference in meaning.

The first two apostrophes could almost be overlooked if we were talking about a talent agency run by two guys named Thug and Hustla. But the third apostrophe gives the fail away!

Comment by Warren

Warren, if you think that spelling is tolerable, what are you even doing on this site?

You’re criticizing the English usage of Israelis living in Israel?

Do you not see the cognitive dissonance here? You cannot rationally expect foreign people, living in their native lands, to have perfect spelling using an alphabet that is not the same as theirs, and doesn’t even scan the same direction.

Comment by Anonymous

I’m not going to criticise their Hebrew spelling, but if they choose to write in English, they have presumably done so thinking they can spell correctly in English. Fail.

Comment by Anonymous

christ, it’s arabic.

when anyone learns english, it’s not hard to reverse the direction of writing and reading, much less add (or not add) apostrophes to the right end of the word. it’s not like they look and see jibberish.

that said, you’re right–foreigners shouldn’t get the same flack as jackasses here without an excuse.

Comment by Sarah

Nope, that’s not Hebrew. I think it’s Arabic.

This is funny. I’m also curious about the “walking” and “running” at the top.

Comment by Cat

Warren, this is a website. It’s for entertainment. We’re not some university’s admissions board, trying to be all fair and balanced and give everyone a chance and take into consideration their difficult circumstances and acknowledge that we couldn’t do any better in their language.

We’re here to make fun of people.

Comment by Warren

We’re here to make fun of people.

Which you do well, for the most part. But if you’re going to call the site “English Fail”, I’d expect some reasonable standards. That was, I thought, one of the results of the recent poll — that only truly abysmal English failures from foreign language speakers would be used.

Since I don’t expect US gangstas to spell worth a damn, expecting it from Israeli (or Arabic) gangstas is a bit of a stretch…

Comment by Amanda

“…that only truly abysmal English failures from foreign language speakers would be used.”

I would agree that this statement should apply to this example, but in my eyes raper/rapper is a pretty abysmal.

Comment by Peter

Warren, it was their choice to use English on the back of their CR-V. If I ever use Hebrew text on my car/body/whatever, I would get my Israeli friends to look it over. They didn’t have any English speaking friends? They will have to live with the embarassment of being immortalized on English Fail. They could have written in Hebrew.

Comment by shroud

They made an atempt at english. The product failure.

Simple as that.

On top of that hebrew gangsta musical preformer, or violent sexual deviant, would be a faliure its self.

Comment by Anon

> atempt
> preformer
> faliure
> its self

Comment by Omri

That’s definitely not Hebrew. Also, Israelis learn English in school. That’s might not mean we’re all a bunch of Shakespeare-esque literary geniuses, but I doubt a common Israeli would make mistakes that bad.

Comment by dave

the license plate is arabic and the vehicle from saudi arabia

Comment by lev

it’s no hebrew, the only people in israel that do mistakes like this cannot afford them self a car.

Comment by Tora

The point Warren is missing is that ***we are not trying to use languages which we don’t know.*** If I try and get a tattoo in hebrew and it ends up reading as “patio” then they will be free to put me up on HebrewFail.com. It’s not an issue of can you do the same in their language, it’s a matter of did you attempt and FAIL.

Comment by Morghus

Glad -someone’s- doing something about that godawful music!

:P

Comment by lawlzor

this is a saudi arabia liscence plate and im pretty sure they meant rappers. there are much worse examples that ive seen than this car. but yea epic lulz

Comment by Trizzle

Warren is right, you are all a bunch of retarded cunts

Comment by sheba

The plate is Saudi Arabian.
It costs 5 bucks to fill the tank.

Okay, so thy can’t spel (sic), but they still win.

Look…. if I decided to write arabic on the back of my car in england, and spelt it totally wrong… I deserve to be failed like this Gansta

Comment by Anonymous

tougher than thugs, these Gangsta Raper’s. And they keep their cool in a white CR-V since darker colors retains more heat.

Comment by 800HighTech

haha, jokes! they have no idea surely!

….they may have gone for the alternative (incorrect)spelling but I believe they haven’t got a clue what they really wrote.

Comment by moovuly

Maybe he’s a homo-vigilante?!

Comment by Legion

Of course we’re ranting about the use of English by Israelis living in Israel. They have their own language amongst their own native camel jocks. Why fuck up ours when their own would do just fine? There’s a Hebrew word for Rapist. (And yeah, that’s Hebrew on the license plate.)

Comment by Jay

Hey Warren…Are you really so much of a politically correct dick bag that you’re actually getting upset at people laughing at the fact that these guys decided to write something in english on their car and spelled it wrong? Who cares? I think it’s funny too. I speak english. I don’t run around writing shit all over the place in different languages. It’s their fault. And the pussifying of America is the fault of you and those like you.

Comment by 1010011010

Emo-Rappers! Full of “Gangst”.

Comment by blah

Oh lighten up Jay, Warren’s ability to stay politically correct while everybody else digresses into drivel has been the most entertaining part of this thread.

Comment by George

This is not Hebrew, its fu@#ing Arabic! Cant’s you see how ugly it is? Only defected gene population would use such an ugly writing.

Comment by Hashem

That’s definitely Arabic. As some have mentioned, it looks like a Saudi license plate. The letters are:

652 HHD (the H’s are actually hard raspy ones, and the D is a soft “d”)

Arabs here in the Middle East are renowned for thinking they are “gangstas” and dress in baggy clothes and everything. Needless to say, they are all posers.

Comment by trouble

Side note:
Why do german and hebrew sound like they are hawking up some loogies ? Did they used to spit on each other back in the day as part of conversation? I can’t stand being in a room of them it sounds disgusting.

Comment by wow.

Warren, get the fuck out of here you whiney cunt.

oh fuck off. it’s their oil, and it’ll only last another few years. oil has been sold for years less than the price of bottled water, and this shit is millions of years old, from the other side of the world deep in the ground, and refined from what they found it as. you ungrateful turd.

Comment by zee oh six

it’s like “engrish”.

that’s what makes it funny and fail.

if you are going to make an attempt at english, don’t fail.

if you do, you end up on this site. same thing for english using countries.

Comment by bepp

warren, you’re correct: I wouldn’t be able to write anything correctly in Arabic.

Which is why my car isn’t covered with slogans in Arabic!!!!!!

Comment by yo

It says Saudi Arabia in the middle of the license plate.

Comment by Boris

And Warren, if you’re going to use clever words like cognitive dissonance make sure you do so correctly. Otherwise you look like a pretentious prick. Much like I sound a pompous prick.

Comment by mizzle fizzle

thats a saudi arabian plate. not hebrew or whatever you morons.

Comment by dvn

@Hiro
actually, gang bang already carries that connotation

Comment by Pablo

Haha funny… all these arabs would laugh their ass of it was a Chinese guys attempt and F***ed up in English… but when someone from where they come from f***s up, then they get all defensive…

haha, i find it helarious all the israelis were quite offended when someone said the plate was written in hebrew. Oh no, israelis learn english in school, oh israelis who can’t speak english can’t afford a car, oh no israelis are not to be associated with arabs. laa te daaa, i know israelis who can’t speak english to save their lives and can still cover you with money! go kill yourselves losers.. i’m an arab and this hashem guy (whose name is arab) said this: “Arabs here in the Middle East are renowned for thinking they are “gangstas” and dress in baggy clothes and everything. Needless to say, they are all posers.” i lived in lebanon for 9 years buddy, not once in my life have i seen baggy jeans or FUBU shirts or any of that.. If anything, they’re all high on E !
Back to the israelis.. haha oh god, forget about it! though i’d like to emphasize on this post: “By lev on Aug 3, 2008

it’s no hebrew, the only people in israel that do mistakes like this cannot afford them self a car.”

haha lev, do you own a car?? i’d be surprised if what you’re saying is true!

Comment by chris

You guys are right, it IS from Saudi…or looks that way. I worked there for a year back in 2000, and this would have cracked me up to the point of having to pull over! Yeah, they don’t have libraries or movie theaters, they get chased to prayer 5 times a day by guys in Suburbans with bullhorns….but, of course, these guys are hardcore thugz, eh? F-in hilarious!

Most likely the car was sold for export. The people who drive the car might not even know what the words on the back window mean.

Comment by Libby

Shut the fuck up Warren. Total douche.

Comment by YoungONe

Honda CRV as a “gangsta car” LOL!

Comment by western arab

hey guys…the car is from saudia arabia…in the middle east…over here, its fairly common to spell wrong cuz the people who stick, or cut out, the stickers are mainly labours with little to no education….so in other words…theyve been done by ppl who cnt spell…give em a break will ya?!!
