looks like someone was trying to do that deliberately. You can get a sloppy joe with pot or pasta salad. Hmm.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this isn’t actually a fail, considering you can get the Mescaline Dream for six bucks (eight if you add chicken). In this context, “pot” is a not-all-that-clever abbreviation of potato.

It’s still a fail. Check out how they spelled a certain white cheese (mozzarella). They left out an entire syllable.

I’m just confused by this one. Is the person writing it stupid or trying to be funny? Who would ever name a salad “Mescaline Dream”? What shop owner would let that happen?

As for the pot you can get with the sloppy joe…I think that one was just a sloppy abbreviation coincidence (along the lines of the mox misspell), as if you look at the top you’ll see the Lobster roll comes with “poto” or pasta salad. Of all the things that should come with (a) pot, how about lobster!

I think I’d like to know where this restaurant is.

Some field greens mixes are called ‘Mesclun.’ I think that’s where the ‘Mescaline’ comes from. But is it intentional?

    Mmmmm.Mescaline Dream………..

The only fail here is that it’s written in kitchen shorthand, which shouldn’t be used when communicating with the public.

I guess this would be the equivalent of seeing PC World advertising a ‘SVR2008 CAL’.

Maybe they’re not talking about cheese and actually offering you a web browser with your meal…

I took this at Ov’s in Providence, RI. It’s sort of a greasy spoon, so it’s your guess as good as mine whether they had jokester on the staff or just someone unaware of how to spell “mesclun”, but I’ve seen that on their board at least a couple times by now.

The first time I read “Mescaline dream” I swear I read “Masculine Dream” and I was like.. what!? But yeah…maybe “me” had it right, they probably meant ‘Mesclun’, althought I’ve never heard of that either :)

Hmmmm…. I’m not really hungary right now. But if I had the Sloppy Joe with a pot salad and ate the salad first…

  13. PollyAnna on August 4th, 2008 at 8:08 pm

LOL – I’m not in Hungary right now either. I’m more not hungry than out of the country.

And what are h fries? If there are more, are they “h-er”, as in “I h-er fries and they were delicious?” Or, “I h-er fries, they are despicable?”

    • fnnkybutt on August 13th, 2008 at 8:18 pm

H fries is short for home fries.

I’m wondering wtf salmon in a blanket is…

Mescaline is due to the salad called Mesclun I reckon.

Pretty retarded along with the pot too…
