[Blog Update] New Comment Sections

August 7th, 2008

Hi all!

Just thought I’d give a quick update that I’ve changed the comment sections a bit. Now when you go to the comment section of a post you’ll see a little “Reply to this comment” on each individual comment. It’s quite self-explanatory but when you click on it, it allows you to reply to that individual comment and so on. This should make the comment sections more interactive and lively and allow for discussions and maybe even some great in-depth conversations. It’ll be interesting for sure.

So yeah, you should all comment on this post and give it a try! After all, commenting is fun and super easy!! :D

Thanks everyone.

I dare you to comment on this comment. Not you. You.

    • pannonica on August 7th, 2008 at 11:09 pm

Nevermind. I guess if you want something done you have to do it yourself.

      • iambrianrice on August 7th, 2008 at 11:50 pm

One minute and eleven seconds! Your patience is appreciated.

By the way, am I about to reply to a sub-comment?

        • iambrianrice on August 7th, 2008 at 11:51 pm

Heck yes, I did! This organization is sweet.

          • djspleen on August 8th, 2008 at 11:21 am

I’m claustorphobic (I hope I didn’t fail on that spelling). This box feels pretty tight….mmmph.

          • djspleen on August 8th, 2008 at 11:23 am

Darn, I did fail. I should proof-read more eye guess.

This could be a fun experiment.

I wonder if it would get so small that each letter would get its own line. o.o

Did I just totally screw it up? I think we’ve found the end of the sidewalk.

          • M on August 9th, 2008 at 3:07 am

            Yep; I think it’s over.
            That’s sad. ):

            Come On! Keep going!

        • pannonica on August 8th, 2008 at 9:55 am

Yah, I know. It was late and I was tired and I didn’t want to wait and I wanted to make the joke and so I typed it right after. If you subtract the time it took to think up that bit of cleverosity and then type it, the interstitial time is probably closer to 45 seconds.

    • anonymooseamber on August 8th, 2008 at 12:22 am

I think that was a fabulous comment!

Admin: As long as we have the subject of commenting on the table, is it possible to configure things so that we can preview comments before posting them? It would save a lot of intramural embarrassment since typos and the like are radioactive on this site.

    • admin on August 7th, 2008 at 11:17 pm

That’s definitely a possibility. I know many blogs that do that. I’ll have to do some research on it, though. But yeah, I’ll definitely look into it.

    • ohheycody on August 8th, 2008 at 1:53 am

No way! It would be much more fun with typos.
English fail comments on an English fail blog= WIN!

      • admin on August 8th, 2008 at 1:57 am

Haha, I kind of agree with that. It adds to the excitement of the blog. So maybe I should run a poll before I implement such a thing.

        • Voyagerfan5761 on August 8th, 2008 at 3:08 am

Imagine if English Fail started featuring comments from itself as content… Would that open a black hole?

          • Anonymous on August 8th, 2008 at 11:46 am

Yeah, I always want to add comments to posts.

My problem is that I almost always get part way through and then delete the comment for fear of making a mistake. Eventhough, I hadn’t made one at all.

          • Kris on August 8th, 2008 at 11:47 am

I really need to get over the fear of making mistakes, and own up to them by not posting anonymously. ;-)

    This is great!

Team. Team. Team. Team. Team. Team. I even love saying the word team. You probably think that’s a picture of my family. Uh uh. It’s the A Team. Bodie; Doyle; Tiger; The Jewelry Man.
