Ooooh – which textbook is this from? Having done some editing work on a couple physical anthropology textbooks, I’m really curious!
It’s from Anthropology: The Human Challenge, by William A. Haviland.
I’m taking an Anthropology class in college, and I have a Haviland textbook. Not that one, but still, scary to think what mistakes I might find.
Wow. I’m surprised something so amateurish is from a “legitimate” textbook. H.C. Raven would be rolling in his grave.

There was a time when I would constantly misspell that word as well. That word…even now I’m afraid to type it out.
Tongue IS a sort of hard word to spell… considering the ue is kind of… what word am I looking for… unnecessary?
But the fact it’s a textbook and some person should have caught it… eh…
