Funny, but might not be an English fail. Some people have pet names for their grandparents, and I could see someone calling their grandfather ‘granddag.’ Especially if they are from another country.
When my friend would borrow his mother’s car, he would be embarrassed because it had a bumper sticker that read, “Ask me about my Granddog.” (She had children with pets, but no babies – yet.)
Since my friend’s name is Randy, he became “Randog,” and years later, he still hates us for calling him that.

my mom calls my dog her “granddog” so when I saw this, I immediately thought of that. Still stupid.

I think it’s supposed to be “Granddaughter” but it didn’t fit.
