“Lottering”? Is that where you combine littering with loitering? Or are they trying to prevent people from running a lottery in the parking lot? (Then again, from what I’ve seen of lottery tickets, that could also tie in with the littering part too…)
i disagree that the apostrophe is correct, steven… it doesn’t show omission of letters because the missing letters aren’t between the t and the s: APartmenTS
The apostrophe is either correct or incorrect depending if the sign painter was referring to one apartment or a group. It could be either APT’S or APTS’.
I tend to think it should’ve been plural (and therefore incorrect), since apartments come in multiples.
This sign has been posted outside the apartments next to my office for years. I’ve meant to take a picture of it before someone wised up and took it down, but just kept forgetting. Let’s just say the sign matches the apartments and the tennants… heh
Looks like a proofreader’s test.
Whoever made this sign was clearly drinking alcohol.

Interestingly the sign maker managed to use that apostrophe correctly.
Can we prosecute the signmaker in grammar court?

Not jumping to any conclusions, but based on the sign-makers ability to spell, I’m not gonna take my chances in that parking lot.

Actually, they were drinking alcohal, which is evidently more potent.
LOL
So I can drink my rum and coke in front of the sign since it doesn’t contain any alcohal?
Spelling/Grammar = Fail
Lettering & format = Top notch
wow. where to begin….

Stay away from the alcohal, kids. That stuff will mess with your grammar.
Apparently, the lottery is forbidden there.
