I live in Pittsburgh, so, yes, I knew this was a photo of something local (Fayette County being in the Greater Pittsburgh area). Glad to see your work on EnglishFAIL!
You’re either joking or you’re not from the US. It’s actually a 43; and that is the number of the latest Super Bowl (as in 42 Super Bowl games preceded this latest one). The Roman numeral for 48 would be XLVIII.
I doubt this has been modded. Notice that the XLIII gets fuzzier as it nears the right side of the sign; notice also how the word “fairgrounds” blurs as it gets farther away from the observer/camera. The fuzziness is caused by the far end of the sign falling out of the area of shaprest focus on the camera’s lens (see also: “Photography-Depth of Field”, “Deep Focus”, and “Wide Angle vs. Telephoto lenses”.)
That’s a different kind of game with a much different prize package.
That must be why the sponsor is Pepsi.
Must be all the crap that’s eaten on Super Bowl that causes a “Super Bowel”!!
THIS IS FROM MY HOMETOWN!!! I took that photo! Jesus it must have spread quickly… Only in Fayettenam!
I don’t think I would brag about that.
No. I wouldn’t brag about that.

YEAH, Superbowel is in town again, kickin the a$$es of dozens of villains…
Able to cause incontinence in a single bound! It’s Superbowel!
Considering how quickly the NFL sues anyone who advertises “Super Bowl” I can’t blame them.

I don’t get the ’48 reference. Is that when the synthetic laxative was invented?
