Perhaps they were attempting to be fancy by using Latin?

Noun 1. finis - the temporal end; the concluding time; “the stopping point of each round was signaled by a bell:” “the market was up at the finish;” “they were playing better at the close of the season”
close, last, stopping point, finale, finish, conclusion, end, ending - the point in time at which something ends; “the end of the year;” “the ending of warranty period”
    2. finis - the concluding part of any performance: closing curtain, finale, close
finishing, finish - the act of finishing; “his best finish in a major tournament was third;” “the speaker’s finishing was greeted with applause”

“The JavaFX runtime will be downloaded when you click Finish”

    I don’t see a “Finish” button :(

Also, “Java powered” should be hyphenated.

Also, “Java updates will be automatically downloaded … you will be notified when updates are ready for installation.” If it’s automatic, why do you need notifying when they’re ready?

  10. June 8th, 2009 at 11:32 | #10

It means the updates are downloaded automatically. The notification is for when it’s ready to be installed once it’s downloaded.

downloading and installing are two different things. you will be notified when you are able to install after the download.

The finish that is spelled correctly should also be in quotations…

This explains why Sun Microsystems has been bought out.
