Perhaps they were attempting to be fancy by using Latin?

Noun 1. finis – the temporal end; the concluding time; “the stopping point of each round was signaled by a bell:” “the market was up at the finish;” “they were playing better at the close of the season”
close, last, stopping point, finale, finish, conclusion, end, ending – the point in time at which something ends; “the end of the year;” “the ending of warranty period”
    2. finis – the concluding part of any performance: closing curtain, finale, close
finishing, finish – the act of finishing; “his best finish in a major tournament was third;” “the speaker’s finishing was greeted with applause”

“The JavaFX runtime will be downloaded when you click Finish”

    I don’t see a “Finish” button :(

Also, “Java powered” should be hyphenated.

  7. Terry Collmann on June 7th, 2009 at 3:14 am

Also, “Java updates will be automatically downloaded … you will be notified when updates are ready for installation.” If it’s automatic, why do you need notifying when they’re ready?

    • anep on June 13th, 2009 at 9:54 pm

downloading and installing are two different things. you will be notified when you are able to install after the download.

  8. Firefly on June 8th, 2009 at 11:32 am

It means the updates are downloaded automatically. The notification is for when it’s ready to be installed once it’s downloaded.

its the “finis” but i don’t think there is a fail here. i believe they just had their computer set to another language.

The finish that is spelled correctly should also be in quotations…

This explains why Sun Microsystems has been bought out.
