“Who’s” is actually correct usage here. “Whose” is a possessive pronoun and would not be correct.

    @The correct speller

Are you serious? So they really meant to say “Who is house?”

@alijacket It’s possessive. Like, how you add “’s” to the end of somebody’s name. See? That was possession RIGHT THERE. =]

I was actually wondering if it should have a “’s” on Hill, to make it possessive? “Hill’s house” :S not entirely sure though…

Whose is possessive for who and who’s is who is. it’s the same for it.

    it could be like
    Who is house?
    Hill House.
Hill House could be a name,
they are asking who House is.
    and you say Hill House.
    just an opinion

You guys, my school’s sweatshirts have the same saying(modified to fit our school), and it has always irked me.

    “Who’s house? T-House.” Ugh.

Who’s house is correct. The “apostrophe s” does not always mean “is”. It can be used to show possession. (Though “it’s” is always “it is”. Otherwise, it would be its.)

Anonymous, it was a good choice to stay anonymous. Because you sir, belong on the front page of this website. Whose, is the ONLY possessive form of who that there is. Much like people have already said, Its and Whose are 2 of the few exception that there are to the ” ’s ” rule regarding possession. Who’s, is indeed ALWAYS, “Who is”

The cheerleaders at my school were put in charge of making spirit t-shirts a few years ago. The front: “WHO’S HOUSE?” The back: “OUR HOUSE!”

    I was so pleased.

@Duh, moron. You’re right, the word “who’s” is used improperly in this picture. It should be whose. Although who’s, is not ALWAYS, “who is”, it is also “who has”

You guys are hilarious. But it does go a bit like this…

Who’s : “Who is” and “Who has”. But don’t go around saying, “Man, who’s my book?” because you’re then considered a moron and you need to get your has straight. Examplyidles include: Who’s going to the store? Who’s this? Who’s been to Boston?

    Never anything else.

Whose : Possessive. “Great. Whose friggin’ fishing hook is stuck in my elbow?”

Got it? Good. Live by it. Love it. Embrace it.
